Briones is a regional park that is adjacent to John Muir's home in Martinez, California. This park is close to my home and as such it is one of my favorite places to hike. The landscape provides and excellent example of inland California hills. I enjoyed the seasonal study of Standich Lagoons which shows how vernal pools respond to the California seasons.
