Machesna Mountain is an obscure wilderness area in the Santa Lucia Mountains east of San Louis Obispo, California. Access to the wilderness area is via difficult forest service roads. The wilderness area is representative of the transition from coastal oak forest to the stark beauty of the dry inland vallys.
