Phillip Burton Wilderness Area is situated on the north end of Point Reyes National Seashore north of San Francisco. In addition to the wonderful ocean vistas, this wilderness area is home to some spectacular coastal lakes that are a magnet for swimmers in the summertime. My favorite trail culminates at Alamere Falls. The falls drop to the ocean at Wildcat Beach.
