Thousand Lakes Wilderness Area is a small, wooded wilderness just north of Mt. Lassen National Park. As the name implies, the wilderness contains a number of beautiful lakes. The hike from the north end of the wilderness contains a very unusual stand of inland Cypress trees. The return trip from our lake destination provided excellent views of Mt. Shasta. If you hike here in the summer be sure to bring plenty of mosquito repellant.
